Opel Mokka goes hybrid in Europe

As a part of the Stellantis Group of companies, Opel continues its planned move towards complete hybridization. After delivering part-electric Grandland and Corsa in Europe, the company has now switched its attention to the Mokka lineup.

Taking a normal Mokka CUV (see video), the automaker retrofits it with a 1.2-liter turbocharged three-cylinder engine and a six-speed preselector DCT. A 48-volt electric motor built into that DCT supplies its own 28 PS (28 hp / 21 kW) when necessary, raising the total output of the mild hybrid system to 136 PS (134 hp / 100 kW) and 230 Nm (170 lb-ft) of torque.

Prices in Germany start from a low €32,000 – just €1,300 above the non-electrified Mokka.
