Mercedes-Benz Citan gets updated with more trim options, but no extra power

Mercedes-Benz has facelifted the Citan van and its close relatives, the T-Class and the all-electric EQT. Customers can now choose from a wider variety of long-wheelbase models and look forward to a revised interior.

If you wanted a long-wheelbase T-Class before, the passenger van was your only option. The company now offers stretched EQT and Citan variants as well. They get 384 mm (15 inches) of extra space between the axles along and rear side doors 180 mm (7 inches) longer than usual. The total body length reaches 4,910 mm (191.8 inches) in this version.

The interior can be optioned with up to seven seats, but the third seat row is a paid option. Both the T-Class and the EQT get seven individual seats with no benches in the catalog. The Citan gets a new middle-ground spec called Mixto, which combines a five-seat interior with a spacious cargo area.

In terms of trim options, the standard MBUX infotainment screen is now sized 9.5 inches large (up from 7) and supports wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connections. The steering wheel has been reshaped and new smart assists added to the ADAS list. Despite all these innovations, the entire T-Class lineup retains its analog dash gauges.

As before, the EVs ship with a single e-motor rated at 122 PS (120 hp / 90 kW) and a 45-kWh traction battery rated for 285 km (177 miles) of range.

Those looking for a diesel version get a single 1.5-liter mill obtainable in three boost variants – 75, 95 and 116 PS (74, 94 and 114 hp; 55, 70 and 85 kW, respectively).

The petrol lineup is represented by a 1.3-liter turbo engine available in 102 PS (101 hp / 75 kW) and 131 PS (129 hp / 96 kW) variants. A seven-speed DCT is offered as an option.
