Car Tuning

$10k buys you plastic fender flares for your Tesla Cybertruck

Stars In The Ceiling, a shop in Los Angeles, is offering an aftermarket novelty for the Tesla Cybertruck. It is a widebody kit that comes in at $9,990 despite being manufactured from cheap ABS plastic.

Waido, the vendor of the kit, lists multiple reasons as to why it costs as much as it does. For one, it claims to be the world’s first tuner to offer a widebody package for the electric pickup. Second, it limits the production to just 100 units, so an exclusivity of sorts is implied. Third, the fenders are meant to be installed on OEM mounting points – no cutting necessary. Once there, they widen the body by 154 mm (6 inches).

This isn’t to say that the installation is a two-minute affair. You are still going to have to rewire the FSD cameras using longer wires and carry out other minor modifications. As an upside, all electronic systems of the truck are going to continue working as intended.

Waido lists some other options for Cybetruck owners. These include a redesigned front bumper, aerodynamic side sills, an aggressive rear diffuser and a large roof-mounted spoiler. A set of 26-inch Forgiato wheels rounds off the build seen here.
