Kimera sheds light on a new restomod

Italian automaker Kimera Automobili founded by ex-racing driver Luca Betti has unveiled its newest and most extreme creation so far, the K39. It will be taking part in the next year’s Pikes Peak International Hill Climb.

The vehicle looks like an evolutionary step forward from the company’s Evo37 and Evo38 models. It isn’t street-legal and flaunts a very aggressive-looking body kit with a bulky front splitter, a rear wing, a diffuser and a stabilizer fin on the roof. Numerous air vents help with the stability, and the body comes adorned with a classic Martini Racing livery in memory of the team that dominated the World Championship in the 1970s and ‘80s.

Kimera doesn’t provide any interior shots or performance figures, but does say that the engine will be “making a lot of noise” as the Evo39 starts its Race to the Clouds next year. This can be interpreted as a hint that the internal combustion engine isn’t going anywhere.
